Whats wrong with my 2000 buick regal?

when i take off its like im on ice but my tires arent slipping and it starts off slow and then it is like i got off the ice and hit black top and it just jumps and takes off. it shifts fine.please tell me whats wrong with my car im only 16 and got my licens yesterday and im not one of them kids that burns out every time they stop. i take off rather slowly because i am trying to save on gas
