Replacing transmission pan gasket?

I have a 1990 Buick Regal Gran Sport with a Transmission Pan Gasket Leak. I've had this car for 3 years now and when I brought it, I had it inspected. That did come up on the inspection but it wasn't necessary to change at the time. Now it is leaking worse and ive had to add transmission fluid from time to time but not often. I check my fluids regularly. Well I had 3 opinions by ASE certified techs on it and 2 out of 3 said that by changing it, it won't hurt the transmission. But that one person said that its a big risk. Im kinda scared to change it because I don't want to have to buy another transmission. The car shifts just fine so that's why I haven't touched it yet. Just want opinions by Techs only please or someone who had a similar problem.

What help should my grandad be getting from social services?

My grandad is 79, disabled, suffers from dementia, epilepsy and stage 3 cancer. My nan is his full time carer, she is 76, also disabled with chronic back problems. They live in their own 2 bed semi, my nan wants to move to a bungalow but Grandad is refusing as he has lived their for 50 years and i agree that moving would be too much for him so they contacted social services to see if they could get any help with getting house adjusted. He is having his kidney out on Thursday and my Nan has called my crying as she does not know how she will cope when he comes out of hospital (they say he will be in for 5-7 days). I try to be there as much as i can and go at least once a day but this isn't enough and with work and small children i don't have any extra time. They have no savings and low pensions but have both always worked full time so surely they are entitled to some sort of help?

99 Buick Regal Shuts off on me after being drove for more than 10 miles and several other minor issues?

I have a 99 Buick Regal. Shortly after we purchased it, it started having problems. When you drive it for a period of 30 minutes or longer, and usually when it's hot outside, the car will shut it's self off, no warning. If you start it back up immediately, when you go to drive, it acts as if it has ran out of gas and will shut off again. It's un-drive able. After it sits for 30-60 min. you can then get back in it and drive it again, just perfect. What in the world could this be? We put it on a diagnostic machine and it said that the catalytic converter was clogged and that the torc converter was stuck open. Sometimes, before it started shutting off, when you would drive it would kind of hard shift, but it felt more like you were running out of gas then a transmission problem. We put some stuff called Lube Guard in the Transmission, it's for torc converters, and now the shifting issue has stopped but it still shuts off on us, how can we fix this? Also, all of our digital dash is out, what could be the cause of this? And we have dual climate control (pass/driver) heat and air feature and the driver side blows out heat all the time but the passenger side is changeable from heat to air, what could be the cause of this? Also, the heated seat feature only works for the passenger seat, why would the driver side be not functioning correctly? Well, I know this is long, but I would really appreciate all the help I can get. I need this car to be reliable and I can't afford to take it to a mechanic. I just don't have the money. I feel like it is an electric problem but my car stall every time i am decreasing or going slow at speed usually around 20-30 mph and usually when im turning left. Nothing you do in middle school matters. Colleges (Ivies and really any other colleges you apply to) will NEVER see your middle school grades. If you put your extracurriculars and awards that you got in middle school on your college application, college admissions officers will basically laugh at you. Colleges are interested in what you are doing in high school, specifically 10th though 12th grade (even 9th grade isn't critical for college admissions). It is good to prepare yourself and get a feel for what you are interested in so that you know what activities, academics, ect to pursue in high school, but you don't want to burn yourself out! Slow and steady wins the race. So don't worry about it. Enjoy middle school while you still can, high school is much harder and much more stressful.

You shouldn't be trying to repair water leaks in the loft of yoru rented property - that is definitely the responsibility of the landlord. Water can only come from a few sources - in a loft it has to be either rainwater falling through holes or seeping through walls, or leaking from pipes or tanks. So he is definitely responsible for fixing the original problem. If there was enough water to make the ceiling fall through then there would have been extensive evidence in the loft around the area of the hole - so if its compeltely dry then your original explanation will not be believable. You might as well come clean. But as you say, why was there a floorboard missing, thats negligent and dangerous although possibly your contract might have said you must not access the loft. I think you need to stand your ground and not let them bully you into feeling responsible. But it might be better to say you went up in the loft to FIND OUT what where the water was coming from rather than that you were trying to do a repair job. Water is always a serious issue and it would have been responsible if you were going up to see what was going on in order to alert the landlord.

Well you could look up princess stories on the net but I'd go into telling them things like every little girl in the world is secretly a princess and to feel like a princess you must look after yourself and eat good healthy foods your mummy makes you and have nice fruits ready for them like sliced banana and strawberries etc. I'd tell them that all little princess need to have friends and to be good to each other and then they are part of the secret princess club so they will only know they are real princesses. 1981 Buick Regal stalls on acceleration?

I have a 1981 Buick Regal. Its carbureted. It turns on and idles just fine but when you go to accelerate it starts to stall but if you take your foot off the pedal it comes back to life. You have to jam the accelerator pedal down then normally accelerate and it will then start to go but really slowly. If i manually cover the choke area with my hand a little and accelerate it by hand it revs in park just fine without stalling which basically rules out a bad fuel pump or fuel filter. There is an electric connector on the front of the carb which i believe is a solenoid of some sort and i dont here any clicking from it so im guessing it may be bad but im not sure. Any tips or advice would be awesome thanks! I work on cars but nothing with carburetors so im somewhat lost.

Maybe there is a high water table in your area and a regular foundation was not possible. This is not a concern, this is basically a crawl space like many houses have - either the whole house or may additions are build over a crawl space. The only thing you have to make sure of is that their is enough airflow under there so moisture doesn't build up. On the outside of the house, there should be vents in several places so that air is free to flow under the house. Also, sometimes if moisture is a problem there will be a plastic tarp lining on the soil surface under the house, with bricks or something all around the edges to hold it in place. This is another way to keep moisture from coming up through the ground.

1996 Buick Regal Starting Problems after use. *was fine all winter*?

So, Lately, since its now summer, My car has been having problems starting after it has been used and sits for about 10-30 minutes. When i get up in the morning, my car starts fine and i can drive it with no problems. After I turn off my car and try turning it back on right away, it is fine. If i wait a bit and try, it will not start. It cranks, but it will not idle. I then have to wait 10-30 minutes and then try again and keep slamming on the gas pedal for it to start and idle. Then, Quickly put it in gear and drive. I had the starter changed two weeks ago, and it was doing it then too. My check engine light was on, and the error told me it was the purge solenoid on top of the engine. So, I changed it today. I reset my ecm by unplugging the battery for an hour or so. The check engine light is now off, and i even put a few miles on it to let the adaptive learning adjust for my car and the new solenoid. It seems as whenever the car gets hot, or if i use it and heat it up, it will not start again until it cools. Its not the starter, because it gets up to like 1 on the rpms but then just wont stay on.I can hear what sounds like the fuel injections priming when i turn the key before starting, (sorry if that sounds stupid). If anyone knows what the problem is, how much it will cost, or if i can do it myself, please help me out. This is a pain in my butt, and I cannot figure it out. I cant take it anymore. PLEASE HELP ME. thank you. :)

Should I go back home?

I am 23 and I moved out of the family home about 6 months ago into a one bed roomed bungalow. It was already decorated when I got it from the local council and I got a 2nd hand sofa. Can I use 5W-20 or 5W-30 oil when my engine calls for 10W-30?

I'm short on cash but I know the car needs an oil change. I can get a gallon of 5W-20 or 5W-30 Castrol GTX on sale right now for $10.88 vs. the regular $30 or $40 or so I'd pay for my oil. Problem is my engine calls for 10W-30. I have a '92 Buick Regal with the great 3.8 engine. What will happen if I were to use 5W-20 or 5W-30 oil in it? I also plan on adding Lucas oil stabilizer which I always have since the engine is old and has high millage. Right now I'm using a mix of 10W-30 and 10W-40 oil with the Lucas stabilizer and even though a lot of the oil is fairly new I still want to do a proper oil and filter change. Should I just wait 3-5 weeks until I can afford the good stuff? I'm currently putting less than 100 miles on it a week but with summer coming up that will rise. Thanks.

What type of houses are there in older Atlanta neighborhoods?

Just curious because no one ever really talks about the architecture of Old Atlanta. Everything appears to be new-looking. Old New Orleans neighborhoods have shotgun houses and bungalows. Most older neighborhoods on the east coast (from DC on up to Boston) have row houses and brownstones. What types of housing and/or historic architecture are there in Atlanta?

Why such stigma about owning a park home?

We have been paying a mortgage for many years and now are in a position to escape and buy a park home outright. We have seen some interiors on the internet and they look beautiful. the parks seem to be situated in some lovely country areas, and they seem to have a lot of ground around them. They are large, some of them, and look like normal bungalows. HOWEVER, When i told my family of our intentions at the weekend they were shocked. They seemed to think we would be like those 'big fat gypsy wedding' travellers, (not that I have anything against them) or trailer park weirdos or something. They sensed our disagreement and then tried to be positive, but their negativity was obvious. Why? I have made nothing from being a property 'owner' t was never our plan to do so, but we just make the bank richer and richer every month. We just want somewhere nice to live with a nice view. I can't afford to do this on my mortgage. I live near London. Does anybody have any experience with such a move?? We are in our thirties. Thank you

How can I take good notes from textbook (but not too many)?

For a summer assignment, we have to read a chapter out of the textbook for next year and take notes on it. There will be a 100 question multiple choice test the first day of school, and from what I've heard, it is pretty challenging. Usually I take far too many notes, in fear of encountering a very very specific question on the test/quiz, and not knowing the answer because of having ignored it when taking notes because it seemed like such a small detail. Can I brighten up the old porcelain ceramic tile in my bathroom?

I live in a bungalow built in 1945, and the bathroom is larger than most of that era. I want to keep it as intact as possible. The lower half of the walls, tub surround, walk-in shower, and the floor still have the original white-with-black-trim ceramic tiles. The white is dingy. Is there a way to restore it, and the grout, to its original color (or as near to white as possible)? The tiles are glazed, btw.

im a late bloomer, and it all started in the summer of sixth grade where this kid (nicky) used to make fun of me because my boobs werent fully developed. i spend my summers in upstate new york in the bungalow coloney with a bunch of other kids. and nicky was always teasing me. It got to the point where it wasnt even joke and it started to get really hurtful and he wouldnt stop, it went on for about a month and a half into summer. he made jokes about it and everyone laughed with him. people started to call me boobless and chestless. nobody was calling me by my real name anymore. it was always hey boobles hey chestless and nobody stuck up for me not even my bestfriend. Eventaully it got soo bad i didnt even go outside anymore. i would tell him to stop and tell him it wasnt funny but he wouldnt. Eventaully i got sick and tired of it and i hitt him and i got into a fight with him. like an actual fight with hitting and everything. he was fighting backk but in the end he went home crying. and that was where it ended. after that i felt very self conciouss about myself and him doing that kind of scarred me. then after that in the beginning of eight grade i liked this guy and he wanted to hang out w. me. i said okay and when i got to the park to meet up with him he was with his friends and his friends were likee " thats the girl" dude she has no hooters and eventually the guy left and i was walking home and his friends followed me and were yellingg HOOTERS at me. also i liked this other guy and he told my friend the only reason he didnt like me was cause i didnt have big boobs and a big ***, now im completly self consiouss about myself and none of my friends seem to understand they keep yelling at me everytime i go how do i look or something , they yell likee "you look fine wtf ur really pretty stop worrying about how u look" and my bestfriend like told me to get over it it happened a long time ago and i honestly dont know what to do because i feel like nobody knows what im going through and it really pisses me off because how could guys justt likee do that?!

She owns 2 properties, one in the UK and one in France. Hi i'm going to be a Sophomore in high school, all honors courses and in an honor course with seniors. I am also a swimmer and competed in a new England championship meet and got 6 in new england. It is a corner property (or at least semi-detached) by the looks of it. The houses already in the road do not appear to have any architectural or historical merit so this is not an angle that could be explored. The space at the rear of the property you state the plans are for shows that it will essentially destroy the existing garden and also not have any garden of its own to speak of. Parking does not seem to be a problem in your area. While I think that this fashion for building properties on tiny plots or utilizing gardens and yards of existing houses is repellent I am afraid that I cannot see any reasons other than overcrowding of his own plot and a possible overlooking problem that figure against this gentleman.

It was on TV between September 2002 and March 2006. I liked it when I first started watching it in about January 2005. I liked the way they started off clean and then towards the end they got covered in that creamy muck, muck. My favourite was The Spooky Attic where they got a bungalow point for every second they stayed in. But it got a bit too disgusting towards the end of 2005. On the wall they got rid of the burping muse and replaced it with a crocodile that sickened up soup. There was also more & more disgusting noises coming on. By March 2006 when it ended I noticed that some people in public were starting to make those noises off Dick & Dom In Da Bungalow.

Put the ridge vents in and put a louvered vent at the gable ends front and back soffet vents are good only if you have baffles running up to the top of the roof.The gable vents will allow air to flow in and out the ridge vent to keep the roof cool and last longer.

Im doing an engine mod....can a gm crate 502 fit in a 1985 buick regal. i have seen a 84 cutlass with a 454 ?

The Cutlass and Regal are basically the same engine bay, frame, etc... If a 454 fit into one, then a 502 will, but beware, there may have to be some cutting done. I've installed an Olds 455 which is a massive engine, into an 84 Cutlass, I had to cut a hole in the A/C housing to allow room for the valve cover. It was a small hole about the size of a half dollar coin. just be prepared to make some modifications, other than that shouldn't be a problem.

I was going through my back pack trying to find some writing utensils so I could draw and a certain paper fell out of one of my folders (It's summer now) and I remembered this. In comm. arts class at the end or so of third quarter of the year we got one of our quizzes back. When we handed them in we passed it to the end of the row (I was on the other end opposite from where we handed them down to) and I am in a row mostly of girls. None of which I would reject if they asked me out :)... Anyways when we got our quiz back I turned it over (I got a not so good of a grade so I was trying to hide it haha) and I saw that someone had written on the back of my paper "I love you" with a heart drawn by it! It looked like one of the girls in my row had scrawled that on my paper seeing that it was mine. I don't know what to think haha. My Wall/Ceiling keeps on making a Crunching/Clicking sound- what is it?

My bedroom is on the top floor of a converted bungalow, so my ceiling is sloped on either sides. I am constanly going from being happy to what I call "falling into the black." I call it that because I strugle so much to pull out of the pit of despair it is for me. I am a self harmer but proud to say I haven't cut in two weeks. I have no dramatic reasons for being what ever I am but I have taken a ton of depression quizes and I am high up on a lot of the diagnosis. I don't feel depressed all the time though. Its like super bad mood swings all the time and esspically in the last three years. I have never attemplted suicide before but have seriously thought, and planned it out with a will to end my life. Both times I was twelve. I'm fourteen now. I can not tell my parents any of this because I will not be like my brother and have mental issues they know about. My friends that do help are over the internet and its the only place I can honestly find people to open up too. I need advice to almost self medicate and help myself.
