Should I trade in my car?

I have a '93 Buick Regal and I'm about to start a job that's about a half hour away. Should I sell it and get a new car? I would say yes. I don't like the car and I want something that's more me and that gets better MPG, but my mom's boyfriend gave me the car for graduation and he put a lot of extra time and effort into it. So, what should I do?
