Whats wrong with my car? It has no acceleration?

My car is a 1991 Buick Regal and it just started having this problem where when i accelerate to fast the car almost dies and kicks and makes noises along with shaking. Also when accelerating off the line it takes so long to reach the speed limit after it shakes and kicks. Then once it reaches the speed limit it does great.
